Congratulations to Angelina Nguyen who was announced as achieving first in the state in the Retail Services VET examination. This is an incredible achievement for Angelina who worked so hard to achieve these outstanding results. It is a credit to her hard work and dedication, and she must be very proud of her accomplishments.

To celebrate the incredible women who support and shape us, our amazing SRC hosted a Mother’s Day Stall and Bake Sale that filled the school with warmth, love, and sweet treats.
Debating
Bankstown Girls High School is celebrating an outstanding achievement in the Premier’s Debating Challenge, with both our Year 7 & 8 and Year 9 & 10 teams delivering the strongest results in our school’s recent history. Both teams remain undefeated, having triumphed in more than ten debates against schools across NSW — an incredible feat that has seen them named Zone Champions after the first three rounds. They are now competing in the highly competitive knockout stages, with their eyes set firmly on a place in the State Final.

Book Week Celebrations
From the 25th to the 29th August we celebrated Book Week with a number of activities which highlighted the importance of reading and literacy. The celebration culminated on a book character dress up day on the last day. Students and staff had a wonderful time celebrating dressed in a significant character. Everyone had a lot of fun and reading was celebrated as an important leisure and learning activity.
Robotics Trip to Japan
The Universal Robotics Challenge 2025 in Osaka, Japan brought together young innovators from around the world for an inspiring and spirited competition. This year, our students took part in the Advanced Division; that required competitors to design and build a robot using Artec’s patented blocks and mechanical components, then program it to collect and stack packages onto a central platform from multiple zones of the game mat.
Throughout the event, our students demonstrated exceptional resilience and teamwork. Unexpected challenges, including the need to rebuild parts of the robot on the day of competition were completed with calm determination and a strong sense of responsibility. Their perseverance through a demanding schedule highlighted not only their technical competence but also their commitment to achieving their goals.
Our team’s efforts were rewarded, achieving a solid mid-field ranking against international competitors.
