There are some costs associated with going to school that you may find it helpful to plan and budget for.
Costs to consider include:
uniforms
school books and equipment
excursions
- co-curricular activities.
Voluntary school contributions
Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.
For more information, visit the Voluntary School Contribution policy.
At Bankstown Girls High School, a yearly general school contribution of $100 (Year 7-10) helps provide our students with first rate facilities and educational resources that aid in creating an exceptional learning experience.
Financial assistance
If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.
Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.
Information involving Student Assistance is held in the strictest confidence. Parents wishing to apply for Student Assistance need to make an appointment to see the Principal.
Student Assistance funds can only be used for subject fees, subsidising school uniform, and book packs. School excursions will only be considered under extreme circumstances and must be approved by the Principal.
If you would like to apply for Student Assistance, you can enquire at the school’s front office and pick up an application form.
