STEAM in PDHPE
The PDHPE faculty is proud to be implementing STEAM within PDHPE through the Let’s Get the Ball Rolling program. This STEAM program is designed and implemented by the PDHPE faculty and is individualised to target the specific needs of Bankstown Girls High School students through utilising engaging and meaningful resources. Students will undertake meaningful and engaging programs that embed the foundations of STEAM within the PDHPE curriculum. The STEAM program distinctly blends STEAM content areas through hands on/active play and sports. The practical application through sport and physical activity provides a platform to develop students skills through the adaptation of STEAM concepts; therefore, learning is integrated, engaging and meaningful as participants are exposed to STEAM applications through real world experiences.
Students will explore many different activities that are collaborative in nature and inquiry based, which will allow learners to make discoveries for themselves. The Let’s Get the Ball Rolling program is designed for the lifelong skill of problem-solving and is student led, encouraging ownership of their own development. All learning opportunities have been designed for ensuring success of all participants and are catered to the different learning needs of our diverse student body.
