STEAMPunk girls get sustainable at UTS

Ten Year 9 girls have been participating in a six-week program called STEAMpunk Girls that has been run injunction with the University of Technology Sydney. They have been using the design thinking process to develop solutions to the litter problem in the local Bankstown area, with a particular focus on the Memorial Gardens next door to the primary school. An integral part of the process was a visit to UTS to speak with professionals in the area of sustainability and data visualisation. The girls had a fantastic visit that included a guided tour by Seb an environmental sustainability expert, Sharon from the Aboriginal Culture department and a guided tour of the 3D data arena.
