World’s Greatest Shave
On the 11th of March Bankstown Girls High School participated in the World’s Greatest Shave. The World's Greatest Shave is a wonderful event that raises donations for the Leukemia Foundation. Together the SRC worked to pull off this wonderful event and raised a total of $3800.
The hall was decorated in a blue and orange colour scheme to suit the theme of the World’s Greatest Shave. Aside from the main stage, SRC members ran henna, hair spray and braiding stalls. The event was a blast with full school participation.
In order to raise this immense amount of donations, the SRC went around the school collecting money from students and teachers in the weeks leading up to the event. The highlight for this year’s event was the achievement of beating the school record for amount raised. The previous record of $1800 was smashed by the whopping $3800 of 2021. We’d like to thank the following teachers and students who volunteered to get their hair either cut or shaved… a big shout out to Mr McNeill, Miss Baddah, Mr Golestan, Mr Leary, Mr Heppinstall and Year 8 student Amina Mah.
