On March 24, students from Bankstown Girls High School visited the annual National Young Leaders Day held at Darling Harbour. This event was held to enlighten students about how to be an effective leader, and present strategies to help build confidence levels.
Powerful leaders who have already impacted Australia in their particular careers, provided informative speeches that included details of their journey to leadership positions and the challenges that they faced along the way. The speakers were: Michael Fuller (Police Commissioner), Mathew White, Lachlan Smart and Anastasia Woolmer. Each speaker’s achievements were significant such as being the youngest solo pilot to fly around the whole world, memorizing many numbers back to front, being a Police Commissioner for NSW during a global pandemic, and being an Australian media broadcaster for over 20 years. The students from Bankstown Girls High School showed great initiative and participation, with one student even asking a question in an arena filled with other aspiring young leaders! We all thoroughly enjoyed the National Young Leaders Day and can’t wait to attend again (hopefully) next year!
